Challenge
Exponential-e were looking for an IoT connectivity partner that could offer a secure and resilient network agnostic solution to be used for 4G connectivity for SD-WAN deployments as well as traditional IoT connectivity use cases, whilst expanding their capability into the IoT space. They also required the technical ability to be able to integrate directly into their core Data Centres via NNIs (Network to Network Interface)/ Interconnects with ongoing visibility and full control and management of SIMs and data usage.
Solution
Exponential-e required a partner who were able to provide global coverage. Wireless Logic partner with over 30 network providers including all the UK major networks.
By working with Wireless Logic, Exponential-e can now provide their customers with a carrier grade 4G solution, using Fixed Private IP and private APNs over dual dedicated NNIs, to add resilience to their customers WAN infrastructure.
By using a combination of un-steered roaming SIMs and having a choice of all of the UK’s major network providers (Vodafone, O2, EE and Three), Exponential-e are able to provide their customers with a network agnostic proposition which can be tailored to their customers’ regional requirements. This, coupled with resilient and secure cellular connectivity through Wireless Logic’s NetPro infrastructure enables an ‘Always-On’ solution, all of which could be monitored and managed in real time through the Wireless Logic SIM Management Platform SIMPro.
Outcome
Through partnering with Wireless Logic, Exponential-e have been able to provide a fully reliable 4G failover solution to further strengthen the resilience of their SD-WAN deployments for their customers.
One example of where they are deploying this solution is into the retail industry (in this case it was a leading retailer of electrical products and components). Exponential-e were able to provide a secure, compliant 4G backup solution for international DSL systems, covering the UK, Republic of Ireland, Guernsey and Jersey. Connectivity was required to all their mobile sites, which needed to be fully compliant with applicable data protection regulations. Initially the 4G backup solution deployed out to 84 higher revenue generating sites, which has subsequently been extended to a further 450 sites worldwide.
