Low Power SIM for massive IoT
Low power cellular technologies like NB-IoT, LTE-M and LTE Cat-1 BIS enable longer battery life and extended devices lifetime.
Smaller geometries and lower power can also alleviate the thermal management requirements of devices and reduce device hardware costs.
Low power modes such as PSM, eDRX and SIM pause/resume help reduce device power requirements.

Low power
Reducing power consumption extends battery life and reduces the cost of ownership of IoT devices.

Lower cost
We offer the best Low Power network coverage for NB-IoT, LTE-M and LTE Cat-1 BIS.

Global coverage
NB-IoT, LTE-M and LTE Cat-1 BIS all offer good migration paths away from 2G/3G.

Make smart design choices – which technology is right for my application?
NB-IoT, LTE Cat-M and LTE Cat-1 all have distinct advantages. Which technology is right for your application depends on a range of factors ranging from battery-life requirements, coverage, time-to-market to total cost of ownership.

What are Low Power SIMs?
Low power SIMs: The essentials
The Internet of Things is expanding fast - creating new opportunities to strengthen and scale global connectivity.
Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) technologies, power battery-efficient devices across industries like smart metering, agriculture and healthcare. Yet with many mobile networks still lacking LPWA support, global deployments face major coverage gaps. Over two thirds of the nearly 800 mobile networks globally, are yet to launch a low power option.
There’s no one-size-fits-all for low-power connectivity - your use case must align with what each bearer technology can deliver.
Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) delivers ultra-low power consumption and strong in-building coverage, making it ideal for smart metering, agriculture and environmental monitoring. But with limited data speeds, restricted protocols and poor mobility - plus some operators already discontinuing services - its long-term future is uncertain.
LTE-M (or Cat-M) offers better speeds, lower latency and stronger mobility support than Narrowband IoT, though with slightly higher power use and weaker in-building coverage. LTE-M is already widely deployed in agriculture and pet tracking. Like Narrowband IoT, network coverage can be is still limited, so choosing the right connectivity partner is critical.
As a streamlined version of LTE, CAT-1 BIS works anywhere 4G is available - offering wide coverage, growing modem options and competitive pricing. While it consumes more power than NB-IoT and LTE-M, it’s a strong choice for devices with occasional access to power, like EV charge points and micromobility solutions.
5G RedCap (Reduced Capability) may gain traction in the future, offering a scaled-down version of 5G for IoT. As of yet, device availability is limited, and few networks have launched the service.
Low power IoT deployments are complex - especially at a global scale. Wireless Logic simplifies this, providing IoT SIM connectivity solutions that empower LPWA deployments worldwide. Our consultative approach helps you select the right device, optimise deployment and manage your fleet in the field.
No single operator offers full global LPWA coverage. That’s why we leverage our partnerships with over 40 global operators, giving you the best possible combination of coverage, commercial terms and long-term flexibility - wherever your devices need to operate.
